i sure hope so. seems like 100+ lbs lose over the center of the front axle or farther forward will make a difference. i haven't pull tires since i put the six speed in it...i'm ready to reach for the sky again!

Last week i fought with the electrical system kind of out of nowhere. it was one of those situations that had been compounding and i knew i was going to have to take care of it eventually. So...this weekend i pulled the dash off and spent a solid 10 hours or so getting it all sorted. here's what i started with:

here's where it is now (well...the dash is back in actually but this is where the wiring is now). it's still not perfect, but it's way better than it was and i think it's something a little more workable in the event that i need to chase something down.

here's the new switch panel. i took the time to build a harness with some weatherpacks on it this time. only the first 3 switches are being used at the moment, but they're all wired to the connectors so i can easily add 3 more circuits.

next weekend i'm pulling the wore out grey front carpet out, pulling the rear seats out, and pulling all the superfluous tubes in the roll bar out. i have 5 bars that are unneeded (for slower 10.00) and i intend to remove them as my guess that's 25lbs that i don't need. i also have to thank member jbenge for the water pump. he sent it to me for basically the cost of shipping. real stand up dude there. it'll get painted and installed next weekend also. we only have 2 weekends left to work on the cars before our Mu11et Militia race on 4/13 at Capitol Raceway.

Outstanding work man. All them red wires scared me, lol.

Looks better than before by a long shot. I'm glad I am banging gears in my s10. Seeing you go to a manual since my 89rs is gone made me sad. But at least the RS lives on in the mustang and the s10. The roof was donor sheet metal that is in both.

thanks! yeah, the red doesn't scare me much, but it'd love to have a wire label maker to make things a little more clear.

oh, not sure if i'd shared with ya'll or not, but with all this weight reduction, i've also focused on weigh reduction from the driver's seat. i'm down 32lbs as of yesterday. i'm approximately 1/3 to my ultimate goal. i'd like to be 225lbs by my 30th b-day (Oct 22 of this year), which will be a total loss of 90lbs.

I wish I could lose weight, have not found a plan I can stick with. I can fast and that works but I end up eating whatever and right back where I am.

i made a hard decision today. i do not believe the SpeedMu11et will be making a DragWeek14 appearance....just too much on our plate as we continue our transition from GA to MD. There will be many local races and possibly an NMCA/LSX race in the cards though.

how about a little good news? today i dropped off my driveshaft at A1 Driveshaft in Baltimore on my way to work. The guys there were really cool and willing to work with me. since i go to work before they open and get off after they close, they gave me a secure drop-off area, and then were willing to hang around long enough to get my shaft shortened. when we spoke about the driveshaft, they said they'd try to salvage the weld yoke, but they weren't able to. so they welded a new one on, and installed a new u-joint, all at no cost! they got a customer out of me!

Congratson your weight loss, get into a weight lifting program and use that to keep you motivated to continue eating right .

i have a GREAT gym. it is a functional weight training gym where big muscles aren't the goal, but functional strength is the main focus. We use kettle bells and so far i've seen huge changes for the time i've put in. My problem is the time though. I only work out 2 days a week at the gym. 1 day is purely kettle bell training, the other day is a hybrid of kettle bell/deadlifts. Then I normally do some sort of marathon-day of working on the car on saturdays, where i literally get up at 5am, drive an hour to work on the car, stay there 10-12 hours working on the car, then drive an hour home. I make sure to eat my breakfast at home. i take my lunch so i can be sure i'm eating well for lunch, and then dinner back at home. my diet is closest related to the Whole30 (google it, too much to type here/not relevant to the thread). I refuse to sacrifice strength for weight loss. I know if i could do 1 more day a week my efforts would be well rewarded.

That's great on the DS work man. I dropped the s10 2 piece off and a 1" shortening for 50$ ended up 240$ for balance and new U joint, carrier, ect. That was after buying a explorer DS for the flange that I needed to bolt to the 8.8.

I asked if I should have just had a 1 piece built with no solid answer.

That's just it, my drive shaft from scratch with me giving them a yoke was 250$, lol. But balancing a 2 piece and the extra parts I needed added up quick but I didn't think that quick.

today was not as bad as it could have been. it rained all day so working generally sucked. the driveshaft went in easily but since i pulled an inch out of it the yoke hit the driveshaft loop. out it all came again to mod the loop. that added about 2 hours to my day i hadn't anticipated. otherwise it wasn't bad though. i finally pulled the power steering off, as well as installed my astro van shaft. i also got the switch panels all finished up. here's some pics from today

well i'm definitely not the authority on suspension setups, lol! I have a bunch of help from Jason Smith of PA Racing. we are probably going to do away with the primitive nonadjustable shorty torque arm next winter in favor of a crossmember mounted longer unit. it will also be mounted to the rear with tabs on the top and bottom of the housing instead of the big honkin cast iron moser mount. that thing has to be 30lbs by itself, lol!
