Default cam suggestions

i am building a 6.0 iron block from the bottom up as of right now i have scat crank 4inch stroke connecting robs c-p billet flat top pistons it will be a 408. I have stock l92 heads compression should be 11.1 maybe a little less. With the super victor and holly 850, 2 inch headers. Everyone tells me to run the gm 88958606 cam. Its an off road truck so i would like to have power from mid to high. Any suggestions on cam would be helpful. I was thinking a comp custom grid but i am not to sure first time ever building a motor. Thoughts on hp as well was looking to get 400wrhp through 4l80 with custom manual valve body 5:46 gears on 37

you should be able to get 400rwhp with any decent cam you throw at it. i'd just do some homework and trawl through recommendations. what size convertor do you guys generally use as this will govern the size of the cam.

didn't think the super victor was available for the L92 heads yet, the vic junior will do the job though.

We have so many cams we can offer, but custom is the best bet for your setup. And not much more than what most sell their reg off shelf cams for.

What's fwiw mean. Sorry kinda new. All I came up with was "**** what I want". Lol. That is a pretty nasty cam for a gm part#. A lot of guys run a 3500 converter. The one I currently have is 2500 but it was made from my dyno sheet but that was on a 5.3 with heads cam and supercharger but I put holes in 3 pistons. I was gonna have a new converter made soon as I got everything. I'll give you guys a call tomorrow about getting a cam spec for me. The reason I didn't wanna run that gm cam is everything I've read says you have to run the stock gm hollow valves and light springs with it and I've read a lot of people have had those valves break so wanted to stay away from that. Was leaning towards ferrea valves. Just wanna make it strong and sound nasty.

fwiw is for what its worth.
You can run whatever converter you wish, but higher than a 3k stall seems a bit much in an offroad truck.
We have ferrea or very nice manley valves that are tried and true. If you want some more help with your setup, just let us know.

Yeah, that is a pretty nasty cam. I would be bit concerned about it being for an LS1 motor. L92 heads typically want something different than the cathedral ports.

For a first time ever build you are sure going big. Should be a nasty motor.

The GM cams lack alot to be desired. Even the new LSX cams are a tad mismatched.
