You can zero it out and plug in your own curve.
As its been found out using the pills or not zeroing out and having in the curve "think" it's there; it will add advance in...not what you want.

Since you're going blow through, you'll need it to see the pressure and retard timing.

Mine is from a 2004 Silverado.
I stuck a hose barb in the intake, and used a short (1"?) piece of 3/8" hose to connect it.

It is possible to run without it, just zero out the curve like said above.

If you do run one then with the boost you will want a 2 bar unit. I'm not sure what GM cars run those. Probably get one off a 3.8L supercharged unit. If you run more than 15 PSI boost than you will need a 3 bar unit.

Not a blow thru guy, but would think as boost increased you would pull timing like the MAP would...just going to be a crap shoot as to how much, when, where.....

You could play it safe and flat line it at your max timing, but would cost you a lot in low boost areas....should be fine to just get started and see where you're at for idle ?
MAP curve....just flat line at 0.

I would not make any full pulls like this without some type of data recorder and AFR meter running....But just to get started only.

if you use a map sensor you can just build a timing curve based on boost/no boost
been a while since I used the 6010, but I used a 2 bar map sensor, once it hits around 14.5 your into boost, so like 24 would be 10 lbs of boost
at idle it takes aprx 2" of vac to pull down 1 PSIA, so if you idled at 14" of vac., you would be reading around 7 PSIA, so you can set up your timing based on that
took me a while to wrap my head around it
you can just use the RPM scale, but I liked the map scale once I learned it

Should the map sensor be connected to the vacuum port on the carb metering block or to the base of the carb or to a port on the manifold?

MAP sensor conects to Manifold vacuum source.
Be sure to connect fuel pressure regulator boost reference line to carb hat, NOT manifold.
