Default update

Figured id give you guys a update of my fun this weekend.

Whats your take on the weight being so odd between fr/lr balance? We were thinking a weak spring or somethin causin it to lean?

Kinda bummed it weighs so much but that 8.8 is HEAVY! I would guess close to 75# added vs the stock rear. And the cage maybe added 85#

fluids, brake system, steering column, steering gear box.. all the crap on the right side that is not on the left. even wiring harness for oem stuff like abs, lighting.. You wouldn't think so but it all adds up. And it is all on the front left corner..

also, were you sitting in it when you scaled it out?

Are those numbers with the driver ready to go down the track?....If it isn't a finished, ready to race truck, don't get emotionally attached to those numbers.

When I scaled the Camaro, we simulated added a second battery to the car to see what the numbers would be. Adding 45 pounds to the right rear, changed all the numbers for all four corners....actually lightened up the left front...

We scaled it with me in it but forgot the oem rear window in the bed (11 lbs).

It leans to the side some so were thinking a bad spring. I have all wiring except lights pulled from the truck. The right side has the fuel lines, main power wires, battery, 1 gal surge tank, bosch 044 pump, and the coolant overflow vs the left. Should be more than enough weight to overcome the extra stuff on the left side.

Anyways im happy with the weekend project. Cant wait for the dyno day and a couple track trips coming up.

I cannot wait to see what the fox weighs, was 3060 with my 315 in the driver seat, since then I got rid of impact bars and ditched the 17s for the 15s, but the 4L80 I just had. Hilt will add 50 pounds over the th400. But I think the better converter and the ability to lock the converter will be worth it.

your fox was light. Mine was 2965 with driver(200). I removed stock seats this past weekend, and some other unnecessary weight, it should have lost 75 lbs or so and gained from 4.10 to 4.30 gear, so it better be solid in the 20s this next saturday.

If I had the heads yours has I'm sure I would run harder. My 317s just don't do it. Hopefully the new setup will gain nicely. Need it to **** some local faces anyway. Lol

believe me, it sure pisses some boys off with their sbf's. They sure dont believe the "cam only" claim. I must have head work, aftermarket internals or something else im hiding.

I wish I had a 4l80.. Id take the 50 lbs to get od.

Ive got more gas in the truck than I thought. Its a 34 gal cell with about 3/4 tank. That adds up.

I dont see how people can get these trucks and even the newer ones so light. I think they dont have a accurate way to measure and theyre guessing. My truck is about as light as you can go without gutting panels and runnin a fiberglass hood, and still be able to reliably put the power down. I could shed weight with a aluminum ls2 block I guess.

don't waste your money.. That minimal weight gain is not worth the cost of just the block, let alone all the gaskets, machine work (if necessary), and down time.

That is why I never went for one myself...

I droped the cell between the frame rails just in front of the rear bumper. Its nice to have a big tank. Especially with no fuel gauge lol!

I don't have a gauge in my s10, I just use the trip meter and refill after however many miles, it was 100, then 150 and now I should be able to break 200 miles between fills with no worry at all.

The mustang on the other hand.... I need a GPS speedo for it. Lol

I like my speedhut gps speedo. I dont like waiting for it to find a signal but it is what it is. Sometimes it takes 5 seconds and sometimes it takes 20+
