Yes, cheap chrome one 3" filter

1 7/8" primaries
DynaTech's
2.5" Flowmaster dual system w/ H-pipe

I know it needs more

Next time out....open headers and no filter.

Just some general diagnostic questions:

Do you currently have a wideband O2 on the car?

Have you checked for junk/obstructions in the fuel supply?

Did you double check that your throttle is opening all the way...?

Did you verify the cam events are correct with a degree wheel when you installed it?

Was that with your LS? Or the 406. I also beleive that 2.5" is small for your new 6.0

The 406 SBC.

And I promise the next time out the exhaust and air filter will be off/disconnected.

7.398 @ 93.15
7.483 @ 92.36
7.532 @ 90.27

I think the battery may have been dying pass by pass ? It was an issue all day

Looking at last slips... .1 off on the 60', .3-.4 off on the 660', .3-.5 off in the 1320'
and 2-4 MPH off in the 1320 also.

Your 60 is not too bad.

A few possible causes:
1. Your shifting too far past your power curve at 7500
2. Valve float from unstable valvetrain or (aggressive lobes)
3. Too much timing
4. AFR

I doubt an air cleaner is going to cause you to pick up 10MPH+ unless the one you got is restrictive *** hell.

Before you spend any money or cash.
Back your timing back down to 28-32.
Try shifting at 6600-6800.
Then try shifting at 6800-7000.

Possible improvements if no change from different shift rpm and timing.
Different air cleaner.
Get a wide band and check AFR
Camshaft (Bullet custom)
Springs ( Lunati duals kit)
pushrods (Manton 11/32)
exhaust (3 inch X pipe)
Head Gasket(.040 Cometic to tighten up your current quench of .046 to .036)
Need to keep car together until Friday since My Daughter requested me to drop her off at her 8th grade school dance in it....She's excited

*As soon as I get the battery/charging issue figured out I'm dropping the exhaust and sneaking out again.
*I don't know what the DA was last time out, or this time either
*The springs are .660 lift PAC's ? (have to look at numbers) as assembled through SDPC.
*I have played with shift points....seemed to like 6800-7000.
*3" pipes are on the want list also....IF this works dropping the exhaust works.
*It's a Comp Cam with the LSR lobes .23X/.24X @ .050

Your first pass was only down 1 MPH from your last outing. Your subsequent passes just say the adjustments you made were not good ones.

Your first time out you said the D/A was 22'. The historical weather data for Cecil for Oct 26th 2013 agree with that. Saturday May 24th the average D/A was about 980'. You could expect to lose as much as 2 MPH just from the D/A difference.

What are the full specs on that cam? I would like to know the intake centerline so I can see where you close your intake valve at .050"

Another thing that would be an easy check just to ease your mind would be a cranking compression check. Just to make sure all things are as they should be.

How many passes do you think you can get per trip to the track on a good day?

IF the battery wasn't an issue....well over 10 this trip out...was kind of dead. But most of the time 4-6 ???

See if I can borrow a comp checker from a buddy.

Watch your PM's

Sounds like the battery just screwed you saturday. Given more time and passes you probably would have got your tweaks going in the right direction.

Since you got a pretty clear picture on what the car liked for timing last year, you could probably just put that back to 36 degrees and focus on the carb and shift points next time out. I can tell you for sure that cam is going to want a minimum of 7000-7200 shift point. As for the carb, make sure you change all 4 corners equally. With a single plane intake just changing front or back independently is not a good idea unless your plugs are telling you certain cylinders need an adjustment.
