With 4200 converter in a 400+" engine, I would be doing a Super if it were me.

I've had a super vic or mast intake on a few of my f body's. If it was a manual and you tried lugging it around @ 1400 it could be a different story. One of my co workers daily drove a 98 camaro with a ls2, Vic jr, 4150 , lock up th400 and it was totally driveable with his 4.10 gear. What I'm getting at is with you stall, gear, and cubes it will be just fine. Just run the correct camshaft.

With that many cubic inches, you should have no concerns against a Super Vic. It may lug a hair on sudden starts, just punching it from a light... but it's going to WAKE UP in a hurry, so it's really not a problem. If the rest of the engine will soundly support it, your overall results will almost certainly be better with it.
