Called into work guys. Dont know if they did anymore pulls after i left, dyno is closed now. Ill see if we can smack it around tomorrow and update accordingly. I really wish he would let me spray on it but its his dyno and his rules. For free i cant complain.

I found the nitrous carb thread selection severely lacking, im glad i can iron out some ideas. I haven't touched the timing too much. 15° straight ramp to 36° @ 2700

If i didnt post it before its im running 91 no ethonal from citgo

i'm curious. why does he have a rule against nitrous on his dyno? it's no different that going from your 5.3 to a healthy N/A big block??

are you getting to play with timing, or did you just go for 36* and start working the AFR?

The nitrous has something to do with the shock on the dyno. I cant question it, its all free.

As for the 36 on the timing, we were working our way to peak hp monitoring the afrs. Ive got 3 carbs to play with. Still haven't reached max hp. We are back to my 700 with a metering block change. Ive thankful for the 3 guys spending their time on me for free.

Well where should i start... we had issues this morning with the motor not loading up anyways we hit it hard this afternoon with my carb. I ended up after lots of trial and error ( for some reason the motor didnt like a 4 hole spacer and #7 sparkplug wire didnt like its plug we were finally able to make my carb not go lean. We think we found the peak of the cam but gary didn't want to pull past 7k. So here goes.. with my carb (holley 700 dp with some kind of hp center) i hit max torque of 367@5800 rpm i hit 455hp @6800. At 6900 it was 452.

After all is said and done we thrashed the motor 15ish times. Oil was dark, this was its break in lol all the bearings were new. I am very pleased at this time. what else can i say its only a cam swap 5.3.

Many a 5.3 have made 400 rwhp, so it is not surprising. Good job, now throw some porter 243/799s on there and see what happens. Lol

Assuming 10% drivetrain loss, thats 410 at the wheels out of a 5.3 with stock heads. Thats pretty damn impressive in my opinion.

HA! I have seen a few do that quite effectively. There are a few guys out there who's cars are are 3/4 of a second slower than mine, but when the juice starts flowing, we are door to door.
