Default 78 Malibu w/LQ4 and Nitrous

Wanted to throw up my car and LS combo for everyone to see.
I'm pretty happy with it so far.

My combo is a 78 Malibu 2dr.
3405lbs
6.0L LQ4 LS stock bottom end.
Direct port IS kit.
ATI glide 1.80 first gear
12bolt 4.10
Stock suspension
MT Gen1 275's

It has been 11.62@119mph N/A and 9.62@139.5mph on a .028 jet.

Damn. That thing loves the hose! Did you change the rear suspension geometry? It seems to have some pretty good ant-squat going on there for a g-body.

You are very observant Speedtigger!
I have a baseline suspension kit with buckets on the chassis side to adjust the upper control arms mounting point.

Kind of what I'll be doing with the mustang, but using lower control arm relocation brackets.

I also got the car to sit low in the back to which helps the geometry out with the 12bolt too.

I've been a best of 1.37 60foot. .028jet all in 4800rpm off the brake.
I have a progressive controller but it doesn't seem to be needed! haha

I love those brackets that Baseline makes. I wish they made them for A-bodies.

Doesnt have the traditional g body squat or lean.....lol. I had one, but it left pretty decent. Buddy has one that only runs 8.5s in 1/8 and my god it twist like crazy. I swear when it ran 7s, It left on 3 wheels a few times. lol

Old 385 solid roller motor with actual stock suspension, boxed lowers, air bag in right rear, and comp. 3 way adjustables!
Pic below is with my old Wilson 2stage plate leaving on a 150 shot, foot brake th350 trans.
That day I made a hit and the drivers front was 2feet off the ground, passenger side tire......still on the ground! HAHA

They are some pretty good cars. I loved mine till I cut it up trying to make it faster. I had a .060 350, vortec heads and solid roller cam. Rpm air gap and 750 dp carb. 3600 converter went 6.92. Boy i was flying. lol

Safety first. With one wheel on the ground you always have steering control. lol
