Default any help on suspension?

92 Mustang coupe 2850 weight, 6.0 l92 heads
custom FTI cam, 5500 bte converter, vic jr intake. Turbo 350 trans, 4.30 gear, aje k member, upr anti roll, lower control arm relocating brackets, coil overs in front with 12x150 springs strange 10 ways set on 4, strange 10 ways in back set on 4. Car leaves good and got 1.3007 60ft let off to avoid breakout and ran 6.33@96 mph. Lost 10 mph. It should have been about 6.23-4@107 or so. The problem is that the trans shifts super firm. Track prep is getting worse in the cool air and I am spinning pretty good on the 1-2 shift. I can remember what my suspension is plotted, but I had it in the 115-20 percent range for AS, not really sure on IC and length. Is there something I can do to possibly help it stay hooked? I know I can add weight, and may have to. I stiffened shocks to 4 from 1, and added more fuel, but sometimes its still blowing the tires off a good ways into 2nd gear. Ideas?

I am kind of surprised it is coming unglued on the 1-2. Your converter must be locking up pretty good. How far down the track does the nose settle down? Can you stiffen up the compression on the front shocks to keep the nose up?

Cant change comp, single adjustable, set on 4 from full soft. Its around a 100 foot out. Its also right at a transition i believe from concrete to the asphalt. Tires are MT pros, about 1.5 years old with no lower thgan 17 psi. Trans has pretty high line pressure. When I had the trans in my Malibu, it would chirp the 28x9 slicks. lol I could stand to soften the shift a little. But I figure I could help it some other way.

Pull a degree or two of timing just before your shift point

Especially on a radial it keeps the tires from unloading

getting a few ideas anyway. i been wating to pull some timing up top anyway. May look into doubles sometime. The obvious answer from all my friends is put slicks on it.......I feel like I have wasted a lot of time so far if I do that.

This works for me. I am full stiff on the rear compression and it made a substantial difference.

if i can do that and still get off the line, that works for me. i have also heard from others that say lower the rear of my lower arms down. i was afraid that would hit the tire too hard initially, but it may work

I'd stick with the Pro's unless your tires aren't living a long life, slicks "may" last longer ?

This just started recently, correct ?
Maybe try a different shift point on the 1-2 hit ?

Yeah. Just staeted since fall temps hit ky. I dont really wanna ever go back to slicks. Ive heard short shifting might pick it up anyway.
