Now, I wonder when it is all back together, when will it get taken apart for a paint job? Just seems like all you will have left before you have nothing left to do. Lol

What's the count down to a track date?

it still cleans up well enough at the moment to keep the paint the way it is :/ when i paint it again, it'll need to go to bare metal. there are 3 paint jobs on it since i've owned the car, lol! paint is getting a bit thick.

first race of the season is the last weekend of May. i'm hoping to have at least 1 test-n-tune before that, which i think will fall around the 21st.

sometime mid morning my wife was taking a shower and yelled for me to let me know the water pressure was severely decreased all of a sudden. Looks like maybe the 2 year old well pump has gone bad. I spent most of the morning sending emails to the home warranty company (actually faster than making calls) so I didn't get quite as much done as I was hoping this weekend. However, i did manage to get the radiator/fuel cell support all finished up.

in the car

I also got the water pump, trans pump, fuel pump, and fan hooked up so now everything turns on. then, i slapped a basic tune in the new Daytona Sensors Smart Spark LS and did this:

ugh, you wanna talk about a good feeling?! i spent the rest of the day tying up loose ends. I need to readdress the 2-step triggering switch as when i was pushing the clutch pedal with my hand it was triggering it, but now that i do it with my foot, it does not trigger it. i think i'll tackle the dash pad after that and start reassembly. i still need to take the crash bars out of the doors, but i think that may be easier with them hung back on the car.

stay tuned!

That's a ton of work in a little time man. And here I am struggling with rain not able to press forward with my shop. Had to change the water pump on my wife's escalade outside in the muddy driveway. Ready to move on to building cars again. Great work as usual Matt. Pressure sure the excitement is coming back getting that close.

additionally, I am pleased to announce that Afco has joined our efforts this year in a joint sponsor for the speedmullet and MotorManiaTV! If you are in the market for new shocks or struts for your 82-92 Camaro or Firebird, or any other car for that matter, give the guys at Afco a shout to see what they have available for you! The car is shaping up and is in final reassembly stages. We are looking to test the 21st at Mason Dixon and will be ready to race our first Pro Stick race of the season on the 28th at Beaver Springs!

Just catching up....Looking great Matt, and Congrats on more sponsorship

Been working on re-doing our master bath, and working until 9-10pm after work 7-3.
Union negotiations were this week, we just voted today and 2.5:1 we voted no...so now I'm out of work unless we get an extension

unions....i grew up in GA, which is a right to work state. we don't do unions down there, and i don't know how much i care for them up here. but i guess they do something good.

Most people think that the right to work has something to do with the right to get a job. Which is not at all what it is. The phrase "Right to Work" was created to play on the public, putting fear in all, prompting allusion they may loose their right to get a job. What it actually says is, if your in a union, you have the right to not pay union dues. And the union still has to provide services to them. Which eventually causes the union to go bankrupt. It is specifically designed to eliminate the middle class. And that is all it is.

They do have their good and bad points....not gonna lie.
In 15 years of working here, I've only needed once, so I'm not one of "those people"

Anywho, sorry, not trying to de-rail thread

yes, i know right to work has to do with the fact you have the "right to work" when the union is doing strikes and such, and is what has kept the unions away from the southern states. I also realize it does not give you a "right to a job", lol. This is also why the cost of living in GA is also tons cheaper than MD. my first house in GA was 74.5K. i had 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, on .33 acre and had a 3 bay shop/shed out back. that same thing here would be $275K+. i have a little more land here, but less garage (and i'm feeling it lately). i make more money here than i'd ever thought possible this far into my career in GA, but i don't feel that i'm any better off. it just means more money going back out.

so back on track. pulled the car out to do some side work yesterday (ya know, i gotta do sidework, my day job isn't enough to cover drag racing and my normal bills )
