Starting of my first LS build.
Hey everyone, first time poster. I'm sorry if this comes as a repost to some of you, I've searched around and just wanted a little input before I started pulling the trigger on this build. I'm starting the new engine for my Camaro shortly, I've found a few 6.0L LQ blocks, just a matter of picking best one. My goal is a 600+ crank hp.
I'm thinking something along the lines of a forged 408 with l92 heads, edelbrock or Holley intake all port matched and polished with a 950-1050cfm carb. 11.5:1 -12:1 CR give or take. The car will be a weekend cruiser/strip car. Looking to run pump gas ideally. I have picked a cam yet, I'll end up going custom I imagine.
What are your guys thoughts of potential build to horsepower goals?

Be sure to consider a stroker crank.
I just dynoed my 402 carb build and we got 640hp/548 tq.
The combination was actually pretty mild street build running on 93 octane non ethanol. LS3 heads, Tick cam.

I kept the stock LQ4 bottom end, had to fly-cut the pistons, and added shaved LS3 heads for 10.5:1 comp. Never dyno'd, but has been 11.32 so far with a bad converter, and now has a new one. (traction issues last time out)
Been trying to get back out, but work and/or weather keep getting in the way.......but soon.

I thought about stroke crank, but was told with milled l92 heads I may run into clearance issues.

Glad to see the power came out to very respectable numbers!
