As quick way to get acquainted with the Smart Sparks capabilities is to read through the instructions:

Another key feature is having the ability to modify spark dwell time, Important for truck coils. This controller gets you closer to what's possible in an efi style pcm tune. Granted there are a lot more programable variables available in an efi pcm tune, but, this controller covers the important ones.

I just received my smartspark yesterday. The box is very nice, but I'm a little disappointed with the wiring harness.
First off, $200 is ridiculous for a wiring harness. I could have modified my stock harness and added deutsch connectors for almost nothing. I contemplated it, but decided against it due to time and warranty issues. I ordered the LS1/LS6 remote mount harness, but the cam/crank connectors barely reach, and that's with everything else disconnected. For $200 I shouldn't have to be cutting anything to make it fit comfortably.
Asaide from that, it appears to be a great product.

What I ended up doing was taking a section (~2ft?) of the original gm crank sensor plug and a spare female connector and making an extension for it. Now the wiring goes around the passenger side head to the crank sensor. Much more room for comfort and IMO the safe, correct way to put it together.
If I get a chance I'll try to take a picture.
