Thanks for the input,,,,now how about a water pump? The Meziere's are kinda high.If I can I may have to run a GM pump unless I can find another one.

Spacers or Stewart pump, I've got a new Stewart posted in the classifieds but I think most just get the spacers.

I've been looking into this for my Jeep and it seems like 3 inch spacers are what the water pump require, but I can't find anyone making them. I did read a 2010 Camaro pump with 1 1/2 inch spacers will work. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone running a DUI distributor? I'm wanting to build a 408.

Can't post a link because they're not sponsors but read this thread.

Default Wegner Distributor Drive

We supply the Ford 302 distributors and coils, both RTR/External Electronics, to Carl Wegner for use with the Front Cover kit he supplies to GMPP.

Casey Wegner designed these items AND normally specifies the ATI Dampener.

This program was created for the GN-West Nascar series.

Just call, Gary or Casey @ Wegnerautomotive.com they will help you with ALL the required items used for the change-over.

I'm new to the whole LS "scene" so please bare with me. I am doing all the searching I can and keep coming back here. That means you all are the experts! ;-)
As with the original post, I am looking for ideas for the dampener and also water pump.
I plan to use my LQ9 powered Model A for regular street use. No high revving racing or anything like that.
Because I am running the front mount distributor I am running into issues that I am sure others have.
Here are my questions.
1) Can I use and underdrive balancer/crank pulley so long as it clears the front timing cover?
2) Because the stock water pump doesn't clear the new timing cover, can I use the stock pump by using spacers.
I will only have an alternator pulley along with water pump and balancer/crank
i can machine my own brackets and other spacers to get proper pulley alignment. I just want an alternate option over the ATI. Again, I know it's a quality product but because I do not plan to run a blower and I am basically a stock application, what do you all with the experience suggest. I do need to save dollars where I can.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely, Grant

Default Impeller Rotation

Hi Grant, Mr. Model "A" (cool), sure those things will all work.
The statement you made could suggest the rotation of the pump impeller will be opposit of the design.

Your original Model "A" had DIS (Distributorless Ignition System), ONE coil for each sparkplug.
I have that coil, the Walnut Coil, on my display wall.

When your car was new, a company named Dayton Engine Laboratories COmpany had a device used to light Gas Lamps in factories.

This looks like the device you have fitted ?

I see you" modernized" the ignition system.

I ended up ordering the ATI unit. $500+ with drill pin fixture. Geeeeez
Anyway, I got that last week. Will install in a day or so.
As for the impeller flow, I am wondering if I can reverse the flow with a different impeller. I had been looking into this.
And yes, the ignition system is a weeee but different than it was 87 years ago ;-)

Default Impeller Rotation

Hi Grant, NO the Impeller AND Volute MUST Match. (water pump, not always in a turbocompressor)
Think "turbo" cold side.

This is why Casey built the pump that Stewart COPIED.
I designed the "cartridge" pump with John Drake under U.S. Patent.
I fitted my A/D, sensors, flow meters to John's pump dyno.
He won a NASCAR product of year award with this pump.

I have great prices on Wegner items ?

Wh

Does someone have a pic of the Wegner water pump or can they explain lain how it will work. As you can see in The pics, spacing the original pump puts the pump wat too far out front. How does the wegner unit work and line up. Thanks, Grant
