That ls9 cam wont like that mid rise or high rise...def not the best choice. Single plane need a narrower lsa than that.

No idea of those specs on the LS9 cam off the top of my head, BUT, I guess it comes down to how much power you want to make Vs. how far you're willing to take the motor.

Willing to fly-cut the pistons or you want the biggest cam you can without doing anything more than a cam swap ?

A quick google search would show you that.
Its a 211 230 .55x/.55x 122lsa. Def not made for a carb setup at all. itll fit easy with no flycut.

Ly6 can make great power. My old one is listed in my sig. But, I think you need to ditch your cam and at the least go with a jyd cam from Cam motion. I have FTI in my car, and That's pretty much all I use.

Don't use that LS9 grind.

Check out cammotion cams for square ports. It has literally ALL the details, requirements and intended use for the cams there. They can help you make a good decision. I am going with their junkyard dog grind for my 2008 LY6 myself. But it is a big of a grind you can use without fly cutting for the most part.

It is not so much the LSA that makes it a bad choice as it is the ICL. The IVC is going to be about 5-6 degrees late and the IVO is a whopping -16 degrees. Combine that with a short runner and big square port heads and that engine will be a torque-less mess.
