LS2 Holley sticking open a bit...
Hey there,
I have an LS2 from a 2008 Trailblazer.
It has a Holley 670 carb on it with the MSD kit to run a carb.
It's actually in my 1976 Suburban K10, but I have an I <3 Pontiac sticker on it!
The throttle cable has a sharp S shape bend in it, and it is making the throttle stick open some. I have tried fooling with the return spring before I figure out the cable was the problem (pretty sure).
The engine will run fast, say 1500 RPM or so, and if you floor it, the idle will drop down. If I go in and wiggle the throttle cable it gets better, but feels like it binds up. Obviously NOT safe to drive...
Anyone run into this and what did you do? Shorter cable? Different
"throttle cable bracket"?
thanks!
Nick

Sounds like you need to reroute the cable so it doesn't have a sharp bend.
A second return spring is not unheard of.
greasing the cable can't hurt
But getting a nice straight shot is best. Can you cut down the existing cable and get rid of the bend?

Thanks for the replies.
I have decided that the throttle cable bracket and the length of the (stock) cable combine to make this all bad.
I just ordered an "Cut to length" Lokar cable, and a carb mounted bracket (instead of the manifold mounted bracket).
Hopefully that does the trick!
