520+ hp from a LS1?
Yep!! My LS1 with AFR 210cc heads pumped out over 520 hp at 5900 rpm and 472lb/ft torque at 5400 rpm!

Since I know ya'll are gonna ask, we decided not to pull it again past 6000rpm since the torque started to significantly fall off after 5800. Judging by the rate the numbers were climbing, 540hp may have been obtained by 6500rpm, but I was perfectly ok with the numbers that it was producing in the areas the engine will mostly be operating in. Even more impressive is the torque curve. It maintained over 400lb/ft of torque from 3400rpm-6000rpm

Wow. Impressive numbers. Please don't tell me your only going to rev that thing to 6k. It made peak tq at 5400rpm. Only dropping 11lb/ft when you stopped at 5900. That motor didn't even start to sing yet. With the tq peaking that high & the intake on that motor it should make awesome power. My motor makes peak tq at 4800 & peak hp at 6400rpm. With a plastic intake.
Looking good. More details on the motor please.

Engine specs: 2002 F-body LS1.
-Stock crank, rods, pistons. New Clevite rod, main, and cam bearings.
-New Total Seal rings with a gapless 2nd ring.
-New Melling high pressure oil pump.
-AFR 210cc CNC ported heads. bolted straight on, no massaging or port matching.
-KYTP spec cam: 232/240 dur @ .050, .580/.580 lift, 110+2 LSA
-Vic Jr. intake
-Holley 750HP Street carb
As for timing, I'll have to open the MSD program later to see where it is, but to the best of my memory, it was 15* at idle and jumping to 38* all in by 2000 or 2200 rpm. I can't remember the MAP table at all.
I'd like to have seen where the power would have gone if we had pushed it a couple more times. It's certainly a happy engine!! Maybe a chassis dyno will be in the future to know what's getting to the pavement!!
