Default Carb with stock ECM from the LS

No problem. Joe refused to spend cash on a MSD so made it work.

That has been done, or at least attempted, a couple of times on here. Good work, I salute your inner hillbilly ingenuity. Wouldn't mind hearing details, seems like there were more than a few issue to making it work.

But at the same time seems like the worst of both worlds solution.

Nice! Have any guidance on retaining the PCM and using the factory gauges with the MSD box?

No hillbillys here. They don't mess with electronics. This was simply joe refusing to send 375$ to MSD. He did use the MSD harness because the old MSD burnt up.

You would be fine with all the sensors retained that inmention. But, we found the TBI throttle position sensor will work with it and you can steal the little arm off the TB from a 88-91 2 barrel throttle body. Keep the coolant temp, oil pressure, all that. Should work pretty awesome.

For real. It is sloppy. But nothing hillbilly about a LS swap done like this. Hillbillys stick to a HEI small block or something ancient.

I can't tell who is joking and who isn't. I said hillbilly as a complement. Doesn't seem to have come off that way.
