Default Cold start issues msd 6010

Guys I've got trouble staring my LS1 when cold. Hot no issues.
I'm from Australia and 18months ago did an LS1 conversion using a carbie and the msd 6010. Now of late I'm having trouble starting the thing changed both sensors and to know avail, with the plugs out it's got terrific spark so I can't see a reason for it not to fire. Seems to be winding fine and has 10.8 volts back at the battery while cranking. So what you reckon plug gap? I'm using NGK tr6 0.070 gap.
I've read the msd 6010 is **** and riddled with issues but with this I don't think it's the issue. I have wired thru a relay directly to the battery aswell as the earth is back to the battery aswell.
Any help appreciated.

.070 is huge. I'm surprised it would run at all. Most n/a apps I've seen run .035-.040.

Close the gaps a bit and see what happens. .070 is WAY too much.
