Default 6.0 shutting off / backfire while driving

So it started off shutting off while driving once every few days. Would start back 5 mins later and drive fine. Had a guy look at it that " new what he is doing" now it shuts off every 20-30 mins and a loud back fire sometimes, but not all the time... Any ideas?

I doubt that wire is the culprit. Is the MSD box powered and grounded directly to the battery?
