Berlinetta was the mid-level trim option for some 2nd and 3rd gens. Both were available with an entry level 305, although many came with a V6. Similar to a RS on the 4th gen, although the 4th RS was not available with a V8.

My old '79 started life as a 305 Berlinetta in which I built a Z28 clone out of it.

I had a 1984 Berlinetta for about 15 years. It had a 305 engine. It was white. That radio pod had a tape player in it. I had more problems with that radio. I traded it for a 2001 SS. It had about 150K miles on it. Never had trany or engine problems. I still have the owners manual.

On the 3rd gens don't forget about the pods on the side of the gauge cluster that pulled out with the HVAC on the right side and the headlights on the left side, also they had the digital dash. My brother had one when I was 14 it was kinda cool but nothing I would buy.

I almost forgot about the digital dash. I had to replace a computer once because the digital spedo did not work.

Does your dash flash 88 at anything past 88 mph? That has to be one of the funniest things on the Berlinetta.
