Berlinetta was the mid-level trim option for some 2nd and 3rd gens. Both were available with an entry level 305, although many came with a V6. Similar to a RS on the 4th gen, although the 4th RS was not available with a V8.
My old '79 started life as a 305 Berlinetta in which I built a Z28 clone out of it.

On the 3rd gens don't forget about the pods on the side of the gauge cluster that pulled out with the HVAC on the right side and the headlights on the left side, also they had the digital dash. My brother had one when I was 14 it was kinda cool but nothing I would buy.
