Default How rare is a 98 B4C

My boss just bought a 98 B4C Z28 for his son. We are trying to find production numbers for these cars and according to all the sites we can find, they were not made in 98. We work in the service department of a Chevrolet dealership and according to the options list on VIS, it is a 98 B4C. Any help from you guys for him will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

http://www.camaro-registry.com/production.htm

According to everything out there I found too, their was not a B4C package in 1998. However if they did it would be less than the 196 this site shows us were produced in 1999. I would contact someone at Chevrolet to verify they were even produced in 98, sounds like your boss may have been duped somehow (ie vin switch or alteration). Of course its just as likely these websites don't have the best information.

He didn't really buy it to have a rare car, just paid what a 98 Z is worth basically, but we are just wondering. As far as being duped-the options list comes right from GM with what they equipped it with from the factory and BC4 is one of the options that is shows

lol ummm.... I have a '98 B4C. It was a South Carolina HWP car. Btw, a lot of people around here have purchased '98 B4C's @ auctions. It came with Z28 badges, but does have the RPO code B4C on the driver door.

I've looked on Camarosource, 1LE.net and another forum and they all say there were no 98 B4C cars built.

This is interesting

Well, according to the Camaro White Book, considered to be the "Bible,"
there were 239 B4C's produced, 227 automatics and 12 6-speeds.
What color is yours and I'll let you know what the White book says about how many of those were built.

There were 44 "Sebring Silver Metallic", color code 13, all automatics, B4C's built in 1998.
Also, for 1998, RPO B4C was police option for Z28. Included Goodyear
P245/50ZR16 tires, power steering cooler, body color roof, and 1LE rear control arms. Z28 emblems were deleted.

Hope this helps you out.

You can buy it on-line:

http://www.chevy-camaro.com/shop/Camaro-White-Book.asp

or one of your larger bookstores like a Barnes & Noble or Kroch's should probably have it.
