As I mentioned, I was checking at Chirpthird.com on the Mobil 1 issue. SLP did not put in Mobil 1, but someone remembers GM putting Mobil 1 in the Ste. Therese cars starting around MY 2001 to save money on warranty costs; however, GM never announced it.
Someone else said they ordered their SS with the SLP Castrol Syntec option. I never heard of that option, 'cause it wasn't available, to my recollection, when i ordered my '02.
So, I'll probably have to eat crow.

'98 - '00. SLP never offered a Mobil 1 option. It has been stated, but not confirmed, that GM began using Mobil 1 at the Ste Therese factory to save money on warranty claims. Some people have claimed their SS came from the factory/dealer with a Mobil 1 oil cap. Mine did not.
