Default My Rear End is Whining? What can it be?

I just bought a 2002 Camaro Z28, A4, it only has 35,000 miles on it and its perfect but it just has a whine in the rear. It is pretty much constant but picks up in volume when in load( when i get on it). It also whines in deceleration. The transmission seems to be fine and shifts well. I'm just not sure what the heck it is. Please give me some Help. Thanks

Don't think anyone has done a gear swap do you? My 3.73s whine. My old 2.73'd rear had a whine that I found to be a bad bearing when I took it apart.

Does it get louder if you turn the car and put a load on one side of the car?

I hate to thread-jack and resurrect the dead but I'm having a similar problem except mine whines when I put a load on it (accelerate or normal driving above 45-50mph). When I let off the gas, the whine goes away.

Seems to be coming from the rear passenger side.

Any help will be appreciated.

I've noticed a similar whine in my 98 t/a while cruising on the highway in 5th or 6th gears. It gets louder under acceleration. I've gotten to the stage in life where I realize no used car is perfect, so I just usually turn the radio up lol. It might be nice to know though what it is it case it eventually gives out...

My old roommate had a 96 that whined I changed both axle bearings and it still persists, that was 8 years ago more than 100k miles since

My 98 ss with 98k on the clock whines as well, I've grown accustomed to it, its not audible with the ac on max

Check the fluid level often and change the fluid periodically otherwise I wouldnt be concerned with it

I recently had a 3.42 AAM ring and pinion set with new bearings installed on my 2000 z28 at a gm dealer. Had a whine at 70 k and 100k on cruise and acceleration. The shop suggested I had a bad gear set so replaced a second new set of gears . No change still getting a good whine at 70 and 100k . The pattern is apparently ok. No noise at low speed or on decel . Not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
