You can't generalize about 1LE overall because it was changed over the years. For the most part, the car lacked power convenience options that added weight to the car. Larger diameter stabilizer bars were used along with better shocks. Some years could have A/C, some could not. Some years could have leather interior, some could not. Some years had radiator baffles, coolers, etc. and some years you couldn't get anything but the base model radio and speakers.
There were 99 1LE Camaros made in '98. 3 were SS and those three were silver, navy blue, and black. I don't know the specifics of what the 1LE package for '98 consisted of.
Claims that none were made in 1998 are false.
1LE was no longer an option after 1999. From 2000 to 2002, the term 1LE referred to an optional set of suspension components from SLP, and nothing more. This optional 1LE suspension could be had on very highly optioned cars like 35th Anniversary SSes.

There is no sequential numbers with the 1LE option. I have a bunch of VIN's for them but certainly not all.
There were 4 SS 1LE's in 1998. A white one went to Canada.
The 99 number that floated around the Internet for years is not accurate.
Besides being a stripper car, they had springs, Koni DA shocks, better bushings and the 32mm front sway bar (19mm rear just like every other V8 F-body from 94-00). The suspension was basically the same as the SS/WS6 with the Koni's in place of DeCarbons, and a few bushings replaced with solid rubber in place of the windowed bushing.
If you want to PM me your VIN I can check to see if I have old pictures or information on your car. I ran 1le.net long long ago and still have backups on CD/DVD.

ALSO, there were 74 Camaro 1LEs built in '99, of those 8 were SSs (WU8), 7 MTs & 1 AT.
Don't believe me? Make a credible argument that CompNine's database (which is based on GM's) is wrong (links in sig).

As I said 10 years ago, there were 101 '98 Camaro 1LEs built as described above in my previous post. I know that at least 1 of the 2 not included in the 99 count mentioned earlier was a Canadian export (which are usually omitted by "club counts" sites, so its highly likely the other was also exported somewhere else and not included in the 99 count (I did not search for every export RPO code). CompNine's database isn't perfect, it is missing some production units from some model years, but actual numbers will only be HIGHER than CompNine's count, never LOWER. Additionally, it is not credible to claim that there were fewer Camaro 1LEs produced in a given model year than Firebird Formula 1LEs (15 in '98).
ALSO, there were 74 Camaro 1LEs built in '99, of those 8 were SSs (WU8), 7 MTs & 1 AT.
