No problem. HTs are lighter than t-tops, not sure by how much. I think the big advantage was lower inital cost and stiffer body structure vs a t-top car.

I doubt they are a whole lot stiffer. Maybe to an extent. Correct me if im wrong but the structure under the hard top is identical.

You're correct. Even Scott Settlemire said there is no difference:

Hard Top LS1 Firebirds are rare, if I remember right less than 100 a year, I think the Hard top Camaros are just "not as common".

Which are also called a Formula (or Formula Firehawk)

Also willing to bet that there were a hell of a lot more hardtop LS1 Camaro's built and would make them more common that the Formula's

Well I was just wondering cause i havnt seen another ss hardtop in person. I wanted a hardtop dont care for t tops. The t tops are more dangerous than the hardtop. My best friend died in his ws6 because of t tops he hit a tree and was throne out of the car through the top landed on his head and broke his neck. Sad thing was I told him to get a hard top when he was looking for the car.

Which is why it's so easy for one to install t-tops on a hardtop car. The 4th gens were engineered to have them.

Sorry to hear, but it sounds to me like his death was caused by a lack of a seat belt, and had little to do with the fact it was a t-top car. There is only thin sheetmetal where the t-tops would be anyways, and this really wouldn't help any more than a pane of glass in an accident.

I love my t-tops, and although hardtops are less common, t-tops were a must for me.

yes i know that there is only sheet metal up there, but hell they would of had a alot better chance of staying on then t tops that are made to come off and on.
