Default 6.0 swap

So i cracked my ls1 block a couple weeks ago and just picked up my 6.0. Trying to play beat the cold with the swap but its going to be tough. I've got just about everything i need except maybe misc. gaskets and such, just gotta find the time. going to throw the ls6 intake, torquer v2, slp LTs, lid, ram air all on it from my ls1. should turn some decent numbers. the ls1 is stripped and ready to come out, and i just got the LQ9 on the engine stand in my garage. I'm going to be taking pictures of everything as i go and as it stands now, i already need some peoples outlook on some stuff so i'll be posting pictures and i hope some of you have a chance to check them out and give me some input. also any words of encouragement or tips/things to keep in mind would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. anyone in CT feel like lending a hand i wont turn ya away haha!

k so pics are on the way, but the heads have some carbon build on the intake ports which i suppose is normal but it looks crappy. i was planning on pulling the heads off to look at the cylinders and swap for a thinner gasket. if i end up doing that would it be a good idea to turn the heads over to a machine shop for some cleaning? my dad was talkin about resurfacing the valves while we were at it. "he knows alot, but pretty much old school stuff" is this a bad idea? im on a tight budget and dont want to bring up some excess expenses. i could always just leave the heads on and give er some seafoam when its up and running...

ok so everything has been going pretty well. i took the heads off and had them cleaned and checked. cleaned everything up a bunch. pulled my cam out of the ls1 and installed it, changed a lot of gaskets. it was not easy pullin the ls1 out in the street in front of my house in cold weather...ha. but i'm almost done. here are some pictures, starting with damage to the old engine...

So as you can see, i stripped everything off, had the heads cleaned and inspected. i've cleaned the block where the gaskets mate, i've cleaned up the pistons, cleaned up the block and some other parts, wire wheeled the valves, lapped them. seats came out good. reassembled the heads, put them on, swapped the cam, and painted everything. just need to swap the oil pan throw on the clutch assy, and slap that biotch in. i'm giving the engine bay a little TLC while i can so the engine bay is going to look pretty clean when its all said and done. the only hicup i have is i bought a cherry picker for 90 bucks off craigs list and i was able to pull my other motor out and use it to move my motors around...however the boom isnt long enough to put this motor in. i'm goign to have to track down a bigger engine hoist. other than that everything is going smoothly.

items replaced so far:
cam/valve springs taken from ls1
head gaskets
valve seals
valve cover gaskets
timing cover gaskets
motor mounts
harmonic balancer
head bolts

later today i'll swap the oil pan and change that gasket.
intake manifold and water pump gasket waiting for install.
