Ok my tires are in at Discount, wheels will be in tomorrow, I am out of town until Monday for the holiday weekend so I hope to get them mounted/balanced early next week.

Pulled my driveshaft lastnight and took it to my driveline guy today, he's going to remove the stupid rubber harmonic balancer and balance the shaft with new U-joints for me. Im hoping this cures the common LT1 vibration issue... I guess we'll see.

Going to repaint my calipers (already red, but need touched up) and clean up the wheel wells some more.

Picked up my driveshaft last night and installed that, hoping that the new U-joints, rebalance (they it was "bent" also) and dampener delete smooth out the car at highway speeds... I also installed some band style exhaust clamps on my cat back, the u-bolt style one was really close to the drive shaft at any kind of suspension droop.

I am picking up my wheels/tires tonight so I can test fit the 315 rears, touch up the calipers and install some new rear brake pads in the next few days... should be fun.

I will post up some pics when I get everything situated.

Ok everyone, I finally got all my calipers/brackets painted up, I had to replace my rear brake pads as well. I reassembled everything, which is a little nerve racking with fresh paint, and then refit the wheels/tires again for a little test drive.

Here are the pics...

Front caliper

Rear brackets

All mounted up and wheels back on

After my first test drive I had a little rubbing on the drivers side inner wheel well (I had not done any hammering yet) and the drivers side outer lip also rubbed. So I had to remove the rear wheels and BFH the inner wheel well a bit and then I rolled the lips on both sides as well. I didnt take any pics of this, I was in a bit of a hurry...

I have not test drove the car again, but Im hoping the rubbing is over now.

Here are some fresh pics from this morning, all washed up and in some good light.

315's!!

Update: After a little hammering at the front lower edge of the inner wheel wells and rolling the fenders everything clears fine. I have driven it the last few days in varying conditions and havent experienced any rubbing. I am very happy with the Nitto's so far, just lowered the pressure to 32 psi in all four this morning, seems to ride nice. I need to replace my outer tie rods and get alignment next.

How many of you have used the anti-bump steer kits?? Are they effective at 1.5" ~ drop? Suggestions/input would be appreciated.

Next on teh to-do list is to replace my charcoal canister and check the purge line/solenoid (I get pressure build up right now), then I am going to work on some panel alignments and such.

Update finally, I installed my Taylor plug wires over the last week or so, split up of course. The drivers side was horrible, passenger side sucked though. I pulled the alternator and p/s pump for access, the p/s pump sucked to remove, but was necessary for access. Next up is a new fuel filter, gear oil change and trans fluid change.

Then im going to wash/touch-up/polish/wax/detail the entire car.

Thank you very much! Ideally Id love to get an SS spoiler, a cowl hood and a CME kit... but that will definitely be awhile... Id like to do headers/y-pipe, torque arm & mount w/driveshaft loop and a tune before I even get to more cosemetics. The damn tires killed me! LMAO

just ran across this. and i have to see its one of the nicer lt1 cars ive seen.
93-97 >98-02 camaro far as looks and interior goes. the only other thing you could do to improve interior feel would be to install some 00-02 t/a seats.

Thank you, I really appreciate it, I have not done any interior improvements yet. Id like to get new carpet, replace or reupholster the seats and probably install a Wolf cage.

All this will have to wait until the engine & suspension mods are complete.

Also I forgot to mention that my driveshaft rebalance cured all my vibrations, they said it was bent upon inspection. Also swapped my charcoal canister and blew out the evap line, all seems well now.

Its got just over 120,000 now, I know the last two owners and its always been care of. It was repainted a few years ago and I try to keep it clean and happy. I wish I had some more extra cash to dump into it, but life has gotten in the way the last few years. LOL

Update time: So I havent had much time or motivation to wrench on the F-Body, but I have been collecting parts and trying to diagnose my epic emissions failure... I picked up a new set of plugs, fuel filter, gear oil/limited slip additive and such. Im pretty sure my MAF has failed, the car is running super rich at cold idle, so im going to replace it, the TPS, O2's (again) and the y-pipe/cat (Magnaflow piece)... Then I am going to get a tune to dial in the AFR and try to pass again. Hoping to be done in a month or so.

Alright I got the diff cover off, gear oil drained and cover back on, just letting the silicone dry before I add fluid back in. I have also been working on some rear "mud flaps" to help cover the 315's, I need opinions on what you guys think... This is the first prototype model, I have decided if I like it or how to "finish" the edges. I am trying for something like the 6LE type, just my own twist. Any input would be appreciated.
