Default Just bought this 1986 Camaro IROC Z28

Hey guys, just bought this 1986 Chevy Camaro IROC Z28 and I love it. I know its not the fastest car on the block but I allways wanted one of these. This was bought from a one owner widow woman. This was her husbands pride and joy, 42,000 original miles always garaged and covered. Its bone stock.

WOW! Thats an amazingly clean car! Congrats on an awesome purchase. If it were mine I would find another set of rims, have them restored and put new tires on them. Then put the originals up inside out of the sunlight. Those are either the original tires or correct replacements because they are the original tire design for the car. That car might not be the most sought after 3rd gen but it is a time capsule and will be a wealth of knowledge for someone restoring a 3rd gen later on. Take care of it and have fun with it.

Thanks guys, yes its getting michelin pilots very soon.

I researched the differences between years before I bought it and noticed this year kinda sucked for power...went down in HP but up in TQ from previous 85, but everything else is fine as I didnt want t-tops or leather. Honestly, Im not gonna street race this or 1/4 mile it, this is just a cruiser and nothing more. If I wanted power I would have gotten a newer LS1 obviously. I always wanted an IROC when I was younger and when this popped up for sale I bought it, kinda reliving the past lol.
I paid $7000 for it which after looking around ebay etc, seemed like a fair price with the low miles and condition etc.

This is my favorite combo on an Iroc. I looked and looked for one like this but was unable to find one. That thing still looks new!

if its just a cruiser i would at least do suspension to make it ride better. it uses a lot of the same parts as 4th gens. i'd get subframe connectors, shocks, LCAs + Panhard bar. and there are a lot of ways to reduce weight (will help with mileage) without butchering it.

Very nice! I love Iroc Zs.
The only mods I would suggest are a loud exhaust system and a leather 4th gen interior.
