Default 2002 LS1 Camaro cranks, no start

I have a 2002 LS1 camaro z28 m6 with 10k miles that won't start. I noticed the past couple of days it cranks more than usual, but would start. Today, it would not start, just crank. I hear the fuel pump when I turn the key on. I tried unplugging the MAF, no go. I left the key on and purged a bit of fuel from the shraeder valve, then it would start. Is it possible to have too much fuel pressure and purging helps? Once it starts it seems to run fine.

thats a good one. have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge? that would be my next move. then check for proper crank and cam sensor operation.

have not checked pressure. I just swapped the fan relay and the ignition relay and it has started fine 3 times now. guess I will have to get a few realys for spares.

I am having the same issue with my 2000 trans am. Sometimes it starts right up but other times it will just turn over and wont start. I dont think its a fuel pump problem. I noticed that if the check engine light stays on it when the ignition is on it will not start, but if the light goes off it will start everytime. any suggestions?

You can try swapping the relay like I did to test it. Mine would sometimes work also. I have since put in a new relay and have not had the issue again.
