Getting closer. Any input on a air intake would be great. I am hoping not to hack things up to run the LS1 lid.

Check out my build thread. It's called project insanity in this section of the forum. I did a custom intake for my 97 Camaro. Given that you have a a 97 and down body you'll have a little more room to work with things.
I front end converted my Camaro to the 98+ body style as well as used a 98+ engine bay harness.

There are detailed pics in my build thread of how I made my cai work with your style car

I got it running a little over a week ago, I have driven it some taking it easy for the first 5-600 miles to let everything break in. While it doesn't sound loud in the video, it is extremely loud, especially in the lower rpm. I want to use it as my DD in the summer, as it is there is no way I could do that. I am not very optimistic that I'll be able to make it very quiet. I will be adding two additional 14" kooks mufflers, but that is all there is really room to add.
