How loud is a manual cutout on a stock 2002 Camaro Z28?
I have a cutout coming in the mail sometime next week. Its a manual qtp 3in cutout that im going to take to a muffler shop to have it welded in right before the I pipe goes over the rear axle. I have a friend who has a 03 mustang mach 1 with two electric cutouts and it sounds like a stock car; it is insanely loud. My question is, since my car is 100% stock aside from this cutout, will mine be as loud? I like loud cars so ill be ok if it is. If its not as loud as id like, what are some cheap ways to give it a bit my volume?

LS1Sounds.com has a lot of useful video and audio clips for multiple exhausts. Here is one for a factory exhaust with just a cutout like you will be getting:

techcam, while I do appreciate your reply, I know from experience recording music (my other hobby) that cameras like the ones used on ls1 sounds do absolutely NO justice whatsoever to the actual sound in real life. On one occasion while recording my band two years ago the louder it got in real life, the quieter the camera picked it up. I would prefer to hear from someone who has experienced one in real life. But while on the topic of ls1sounds, I saw two cutout vids on there of a 98 z28 with a cutout and stock everything that sounded quieter than my car is now.

The volume changes are going to come from upstream mods. Adding a cutout near the back of the car is only going to do so much. If cost is a concern, you could add high-flow cats in place of the stockers and that should add some growl. Otherwise, catted longtube headers are the way to go.
Not an f-body, but catted LT's with dual cutouts shown with stock mufflers for what little contrast a camera mic can provide. It's night and day in person and really pisses off neighbors, hence why the clip was short.
