Default First Gen Seat Options

What seat upgrades have you guys done to your first gen. I'd like something with the more recent functions like heated and ventilated seats, "massage" is a plus, and so is lumbar. I intend on putting miles on this thing and the stock '69 seats just don't look like they will cut it.

The problem is most modern seats are HUGE... as soon as you put them in a 1st gen you realize how much bigger seats have gotten. Here is what I did..I do lots of long drives (including MI to Texas in 2 days twice) and was very confortable...

From the GM parts Bin, I present the canadian-spec pontiac firefly turbo! (turbo geo metro)

No, really, I dig the seats.. and the stock 67 seats are slippery and convex..

I'm using seat from a Acura, a little cutting and welding to get the mounts
right, A friend liked them so much he picked up a set in leather and the
guy he bought them from throw in the back seat. After mocking up the
rear seat it's only 1/4" narrower.

Any idea what the dimensions of the factory seat bottom are, including the height? I'm getting between 9.5 and 10.5" right now.

I put 95 trans am seats in mine, they are manual but have lumbar. The front holes line up and the rears are pretty easy to adapt with a plate. They are very comfortable and the head rests are removable.

I'm looking at a set of SSR seats, BMW 3 series seats, and 2002 SS Camaro seats. Really leaning towards the BMW seats.

Ordered a set of 6 series convertible front seats. I think I will end up with 04-06 GTO seats for the rear.

be sure to reinforce the mounting points for those seats when you mount them. The floors in our first gen cars are not designed for the force of the seatbelt load in a crash. Very nice seats!

My thoughts exactly. Not 100% sure how I will do it, but was thinking about using 1/4" plate. There are a few thing I plan on doing once I get the car back from the prison, and the seats are one of them. Stereo, disc brakes, led head and tail lights are some of the others.

BTW, I was reading this build on this gold '67 Camaro and once I got a pick of the seats I realized it was yours. Nice build by the way!

I know this is an old thread, but I just bought a 68 RS that has C4 seats in it. They are definitely more supportive, but I'm going to be keeping my eyes out for stock front seats ASAP. I guess I'm just old.

By the way, this is my first 1st Gen F-body so I've got a lot of learning to do.

I think I'm sold on the bmw seats.
