Default 01 camaro lq9 swap need info

Hi all.. I have a buddy that has a 01 camaro, the ls1 took a **** an he wonts to do a lq9 swap an was wondering what should he watch out for.. the lq9 is out of a 05 Chevy 2500 pick up. He's putting a ls6 ported oil pump from Texas speed an he wonta to do a cam kit also but wonts to cheap out an not buy a stall but he was looking at the torque 3.. he's using his oil pain an intake off the ls1 an he's also doing header, lid, an mail order tune from Texas speed. He wonts to no of anything he might need to watch out for like knock sensor problems or crank sensor? An he's hopen to hit the 400+ hp/tq. Any info is welcome thanks

You're going to need to drill and tap a hole on the drivers side of the block for the alternator bracket, and with an engine out of an '05 vehicle, I'm not so sure it will swap in without extension harnesses for the cam and knock sensors. You might also need a converter box for the reluctor wheel. Good luck

I would use a 24 tooth reluctor wheel on the crankshaft and save money from a converter box and save yourself a headache too. I'm thinking Brian Tooley has 24 tooth for sale. Don't know much about those 317 heads but hopefully he makes his 400 horsepower to the tire goal.

FYI 2500's do not come with Lq9's. They come with Lq4's.
