My 1968 Camaro project: "Ajali" (ah JAH lee) meaning 'Destiny' in Swahili
I picked her up from the original owners in June of 2013. Car had been passed around the same family since new and it took me three years to convince them to sell it to me and I got it for a little more than this car would've cost in 1968 Amazingly, the car still has the original six-cylinder engine and three speed manual on the floor! That's even more amazing when I realized the lady I bought it from had older brothers that had it before her! Nobody messed with dad's car. It still has the original license plates it left the dealership with
The motor was rebuilt in 1998 and parked in 1999 when they bought a new car. Because of sentimental value, the car was never sold. Apparently, all the older cats in the town knew about the car but could never get it I found it on accident when I turned down a dead end street The car sat from 1999 all the way until I bought it in 2013. They never opened the doors, hood, or trunk and luckily it didn't leak and it sat on concrete which kept it from rusting. Underside still has factory coating and there is only a tiny bit of rust on upper rear wheel wells. First order of business will be to get rid of those terrible mirrors and whatever that used to be mounted on the passenger fender This will be a pro touring daily-driver build with minimal down time

Thanks and I definitely will/am. I saved all of the parts I've taken off already and it still has og shocks under there. A lot of chalk markings are still on the fire wall too. I'll take pics of them while I build it.

LOL....that's great
First order of business I would do is get some disc brakes on it.
There's a trick you can do and keep your spindles (saving $$ ) and the rest is just 69 Camaro stuff from your local parts store. Hell of a lot cheaper than a "kit" from a Camaro parts house. http://www.pozziracing.com/brakes.ht...Drums_to_Discs
Any help, just ask.
www.Camaros.net (greatest 1st Gen site) which I think you should take a look at. I have the same SN over there too.

This 6 cylinder actually has some nuts lol! I heard they came with 4.11 gears or something? If it didn't run so well I would've thrown this 400 sbc in it but why mess with a good thing until I'm ready to tear it apart
I peeled the original tabs back (felt like I was diffusing a bomb ) until the first one! I assume it was sold in October of '67.
