overheating probs
I'm having overheating problems with my lt1 94 camaro. I've removed the radiator cap nd let it run on its own. The engine coolant is evaporating nd bubbling out. I've had the radiator flushed out nd bled the lines nd have had head work done so still not sure what the problem is or what I'm doing wrong?
Have you checked the Thermostat? It could be that simple. Take it out and drop it in a pan of boiling water. If it is good, you should see it open up right before your eyes. No open = No good = OVERHEATING. A clogged Radiator would cause overheating. Years of mineral buildup, or from someone adding a "Leak Stop product" could clog up the Radiator. Also, but very rare, air pockets in the cooling system (Usually from improper Antifreeze change procedure) could cause overheating.
You mentioned you had Head Work done. A clogged antifreeze passageway would/could cause overheating as well.. Hope I have given you some good starting points.
Good luck,
Tom

responsible for holding pressure and pressure alone is
responsible for preventing boiling (antifreeze has a
trivial impact). Low pressure can let steam pockets
form more easily and then you're screwed at any hot
spots, coolant will never touch them again (usefully)
until the motor has cooled off again.
