Default To fix or keep? That is thy question

Well, 2 weeks ago my '98 Z got backed into in the front. Smashing the passenger light in, bending the hood and breaking the corner of the fender off. Insurance gave me $2400. So my next question is, do I repair it myself and save the rest for mods, repaint the whole car and keep it, or fix and sell for a different F-body?

The car is long paid off.

I'm leaning towards 6 speed swap or different car.

Let the ideas flow...

sscroll down for the pic

Easier to say after seeing it, but I assume if they gave you $2400 they didn't total it so it should be easily repaired. Personally I'd fix it and keep it unless there was something else wrong with the car (like rust) that you didn't like.

If it got totalled, you got dicked man. They gave me 3510 when my 98 3800 got whacked!

If you like the car fix it and keep it!

Default Not totalled

It's not totaled. She backed into at like 5-10 MPH.
Oh, it scuffed the bumper some as well.

I'm half considering repainting car myself.

Your car is red, correct? Why not just scour the local craigslist, visit some local junk yards, and search these forums for people parting their red 98-02 Camaros out and get them for cheap and already painted in the color you need? Red was a very popular color so there are a bunch out there. This way you get to have your cake and eat it too. A couple hundred dollars for used oem parts that match and you still get some extra mod money out of the deal.

That looks minor. I had similar, slightly worse damage on my old 98 from kissing a guard rail in the winter. They gave you $2400? You made out there more than likely lol. Time for an upgrade

Default I shall keep

I guess I'll keep it for awhile longer. Who makes a quality headlight that doesn't look factory. I like the halo/projector look blacked out.
Now, do I paint the corner or whole car? It's a decent 20 footer right now. Probably close to $1k for paint & supplies (if I paint it).

Depends on how much you want to spend. Sonar lights from ebay have H1 halogen projectors that aren't too bad. Or you can go BLS which are far better designed for HID but do cost more. I've had both, and have the BLS ones now.
