I got lucky because the tail lights were perfect on the donor car I bought with a bad body and a good drive train. So, I simply swapped that taillight over with a bunch of other stuff. It was just weird and I don't know why some of those are "melted" looking despite not showing signs of being melted. I've heard of this issue popping up every once in awhile on here. So it isn't unique to us.
i think its from some water getting into there, i need to take out the taillights and reseal them
spraying flex seal on it would probably work, i was able to seal by t-tops by spraying flex seal on all the rubber pieces which expanded them back to their normal size and it worked perfectly, with black flex seal you can't even tell unless you really stare at it

How would water getting into the tail light cause the exterior housing to melt and bow inward?
not sure maybe the heat w/ the moisture causes the lenses to get hotter. steam is hot. i'm not 100% sure just a guess.
not sure just throwing stuff out there. afaik the bulb getting really hot is what makes the lens do this. but the bulb seems fine and it was fine for a long time? but when i noticed the melted lens i noticed condensation in there.
started running like ****, had a vacuum cap come off of where i plugged the TB where the emission crap goes.
fixed that, then shortly after started running like crap again, blew eng sens fuse, i rerouted all the o2 wires around and it hasn't blown since i did that.
also started leaving oil stains everywhere, power steering hose had a tiny slice in it
i was able to snake hose out and new one in without much trouble, didn't have to remove anything. power steering works better now and no oil stains.
nothing says piece of **** like leaving oil rainbows everywhere
still have camaro. it needs new injectors. going to try the cheap ebay ev1 injectors.
im thinking about getting rid of it, i'm looking at a 5th gen but the prices are out of control.
60-100k mile 2010 is 25-28k. its pretty ridic. you can get a 6th gen for 30-33. who in their right mind would buy a 2010 for 25k with 90k miles
there is a 07 cts-v i like a lot but its 26k with 60k miles. but its immaculate.
i'm not sure. i don't want to get a car payment, i'm already paying out the *** for my truck
the t-tops started leaking again, i just sprayed a few minutes ago some more flex seal on the parts of the rubber that are worn. this worked for about 2 years last time i did it.
i'm getting bored with the car. id like to try a on3 turbo setup, or a cheap ebay setup. but i'm afraid i'll roast the transmission.
i've read a lot about those cheap ebay sheet metal looking manifolds. anyone know if they are any better than they were when they first came out? i might try the tall version with the longest runners
injectors are supposed to come today, i'll throw them in and hope it smooths out everything.
the flex seal on the ttops helped but i still get a couple drips when hitting the brakes driving. but just sitting its not leaking in. i'll apply another coat over it when i can and hopefully it will stop completely.
i'm going back and forth with that corvette, they are trying to hold out for 1-2k more other people are offering, but they keep not showing up. they want 16500, i offered them 12k i think they might take it. we'll have to see. other ppl are offering 14k but aren't showing up
