I woke up sick today so my Independence Day plans went to ****.

So I stayed home while the wife met up with family.

I went to Oreillys and bought 24oz. Royal Purple power steering fluid

Sucked the old fluid out, it was nasty.

Changed out 7 of 8 spark plugs and replaced with NGK TR55

Old plugs aren’t looking good, lots of oil on plugs.

need to order spark plug wires.
I’ll do the last spark plug when I’m not feeling so shitty.

Installed new white mini K&N filters and wiped down some of the engine bay.

I measured the ride height
Driver front: 64mm
Pass front: 62.5mm
Driver rear: 68mm
Pass rear: 68mm

Front is a bit low for roads around here but it looks good. I’ll adjust it this weekend.

Centered the rear axle. It’s close.

Transmission is leaking at the rear seal. Ordered new seal.

Ugh! Isn't that how it goes. Fixing up your ride and then out of nowhere something else wants some attention! But at least it happened when it did

Ordered 2 Skar 6.5” 2 ohm subwoofers for the backseats. Installation this weekend.

started a project in the garage, fresh insulation tired of how it looks and it’s a health hazard. r19 for the walls and r38 for the ceiling. Going to do a bay at a time.

I’ll put up a vapor barrier but won’t be able to dry wall until next year

Took my wife out for a drive today. I gotta say those little subs put out some punch. I can feel the bass now, even shakes the rear view mirror a little bit.

Left front brake started squealing, caliper pistons aren’t working right. My mistake when I flushed the brakes but won’t get into it.

I ordered new brake calipers for the front. Installation this weekend.

Had to take a couple weeks off from working on the Camaro to acquire stuff for the upcoming winter weather. Ordered a propane salamander 85,000btu to heat the garage. The old 18,000 btu heater wasn’t enough to warm it from the dead.

Back to car stuff
Ordered Granetelli spark plug wires
Ordered Amsoil 5w-30 signature series
ordered coolant

front calipers are here, going to paint them then install em’.

plenty left for me to work on
trans cooler
coolant flush
Final spark plug + wires
front crank seal
redo crush collar
Remove subs and paint behind
repaint rear calipers
After that, I’m saving to redo the exhaust system.

side note:
My friend been talking me into nitrous but it would force me to cage it and I really don’t want to. Time will tell.

bummer. Looks like oil is coming out of the breathers. Seems like a bit much but I’ve heard people emptying catch cans every 1000 miles so who knows.

I called my local GM rep to get a price quote on a LS3 376 ci 525hp engine, waiting to hear back. Weighing my options.

I’m having fun building this car up but not sure if I should go this crazy or not. It would give me something to install this winter.
