I had an 80 model Z28. The motor in it was a dog. I pulled it out and dropped in a 454 It would run 7's in the 1/8 with a 250 shot of nitrous. You got to love big blocks

Im w/ MSI. Air intake, exhaust, pulley and even an apten port on the eaton will net more than 400rwhp. If some doofus had the cash to put forth a KB, then he should've had the cash to get a decent tune.

At 9 PSI of boost I would hope the 4.6 would beat a stock LS1.

By the way what is the final compression ratio with 9# of boost?

do you have any idea what an LS1 will do with that kind of boost, I do.

I would have to agree with that. My brother-in-law has an 03 with just exhaust and FIPK and it put down right at 390 to the wheels. The 03-04 Cobra's are great looking cars and to the best of my knowledge with all bolt ons (exhaust, pulley, tune,etc..) they can get to about 450 to 470 with the factory blower, however, after that, your buying a new blower. But I come from the Mustang camp & I have to say that personally I prefer a versatile N/A engine from the factory and I will bolt on a supercharger if so desired.
This is why I switched to GM. You get the best of both worlds with the LS1.
Sure you have a plethora of parts avail. for the 5.0 but that engine hasn't been built in 10 years (production wise) so it stands to reason that the 4.6 is going to become the more dominant (number wise) engine for the Stangs and they simply do not possess the versatile attributes of the LS1. Interestingly, I was over at the Mach-1 site a while back and it seemed that as a whole(not everybody) but generally speaking if they could have the option of a 5.4 N/A or a blown 4.6, they would choose the 5.4.

I test drove my uncles 03 Cobra and Those things are incredibly fast. It was stock and I have a few mods on my 99 SS and it made my car feel really slow.

I could care less how rare a car is, I just want it to haul ***.

I raced a 03 cobra last weekend and of course my camed LS1 pulled on him. Im just not impressed with paying that much for a car WITH a supercharger and still getting wore out by NA camaros.

I sold my 02 Z for My 03 cobra. I had a cam and a 180 shot and the other usual bolt ons on the Camaro. My cobra with alot less money in mods will blow the doors off my old Z. I loved that car, but the 03/04 cobras are just fast. Intake and exhuast my car had 405hp the the wheels, now well... still on the stock blower pullied, tuned, 75 shot, im at 530hp and 630tq to the wheels.

A fast car is a fast car is a fast car.

As for the '99 'bras, they were silently recalled meaning you brought it back if you found out or wanted to. And they had more problems than power. The suspension was way out of whack. Also the intakes were molded wrong and the exhaust was bent wrong causing too much restriction. Ford stopped production for 2000 to fix the '99s and learn how to do IRS. Looks like they did ok with all the newer 'bras. More power to Ford for making a fast car for under 35k.

They still need to rework the IRS configuartion into a stronger setup. While the C5 IRS isnt bulletproof by anymeans, it whoops the dog **** out of the Cobra's setup. Even the 03+s are dropping IRS pieces on stickies, while the C5 counterparts are still going down the track.

And not taking anything away from the Cobra's, but i'd hope a factory blown car pushin near 400hp is going to be quick no matter what it is. The compression leads the owner to up the boost almost 2x what it is set for @ stock, and with just exhaust and simple air induction upgrades the Cobra will net some insane power gains for minimal $.

Default 2002 SS Camaro

I have a 2002 35th SS Camaro stock and I have beaten everything I've raced. The only close race I have ever had was against a STi and we were going 160 M.P.H. I have won against a GT, Cobra SVT, and a 67' Shelby GT500. I'm not sure if I won because I'm a good driver, my car was faster, or the other guy was a bad driver.

It may be five years old but it is new to us new guys. I was wondering about this question this week because this dude I used to work with kept telling me he could beet the lt1 I had because he had dual cam in his Cobra. I new I could beet him. If i had a cobra I would'nt sit in it I would light that thing on fire. John
