Here's a reference to a Lingenfelter LT1 that went 237, but I don't know much about it.

I have only hit 155mph in my A4 and had plenty to go..(Sorry not enough ***** yet) I had this guy that programed my computer and tranny take my speed limiter to 165 but i dont really know if i want to take it up there. Does anyone have any problems with wind coming in the t-tops a little bit and could this be a problem?

This afternoon (2/13/2005) a friend of mine and I went out to a closed military base out here in west Texas and made some top end runs in my 2002 Z28 which has an LS6 crate motor in it (see sigs). The runways are two miles long, all concrete, 3300 feet elevation and closed to traffic and the general public.
The first run was taken to 155 MPH, the second showing well over 155 MPH and estimated to be just over 160 MPH. The third run was well past that and estimated to be about 170 MPH and there was plenty of RPM to go. All runs were topped out in 5th gear.
I have a video of one of the runs from inside the car clearly showing 155 mph. As soon as I figure how to post this I will, although the quality is not that great, it shows the speed, rpm, and the sound of the true duals are heard screaming nicely. Based on today, I believe this car is easily capable of hitting 175 to 180 MPH if we had enough runway.
If anyone wants to call bs, come out to west Texas and I will be glad to take you for a ride!!

We went from a steady start, not really a drag racing start. I would LOVE to be able to do that in the quarter! I can't wait to take this thing out to the strip once the new clutch and 12 bolt w/4:10's are in. I hope to see low 12's maybe even a high 11.
By the way, I just found out we can't go back to the airfield anymore because apparently we aren't the only ones going out there!!

I've hit 135 easily. I've read (about 7 years ago in car mag.) that top speed cannot be reached in 6th gear as it is a wimpy overdrive/fuel economy gear. You have to do it in 5th.

Im puttin out about 340 rwhp. 3.42 rear gear. I take off in first, zip it up to about 4000 rpm, skip straight to 3rd, pull it up to about 100 mph, skip to 5th and I can pull it past the 155 where the speedo ends !!
Dont know in time, it takes me about 3 miles. (Thats not long!) Im guessin' 2 minutes.
Dont know exactly how fast I am going after that, DAMN FAST !!
6th gear only slows you down.
Believe it !!

Man i was in a telling some guys in another forum about the first day i bought my car and it had brand new zr nittos so i maxed it out traffic was low and the highway permitted without curves. My bro told me thegps finally clicked 166 right before hitting the breaks. These guys were so negative and acked like it was in possible or something. Hell they run 160/163mph stock. Im glad to see people who have the ***** to see what there cars will really do.
