Well I got my second 3rd gen the other day. Worse thing Ive done in a while sorry to say . '90 RS . Blue with black interior. T-Tops, and full power . Bought it for the body because it had a title. Has damage to the body but that was no problem to replace. Well I was blinded by its beauty from the road. I was lookin a blue, t-top camaro with a title. I knew the motor was knocking and I wasnt concerned about the tranny. Planned on swaping my motor and trans out from my '85. Well got it home and the more I looked the worse it got. Rust ,Rust , and more Rust. The car is about 98% complete. The title ended been not being what I expected. Got real pissed when I went to jack it up on the drivers side and saw where the floor board had rotted out and there was a liscence plate shoved up ion there. I can probably make my money back ot of it cause the interior is in great shape considering the shape of the exterior. Even the dash pad isnt all cracked up in the center. The odometer reads 385K, I looked a few times to make sure and it was right. Just want to almost break even since I will use some of the parts for my car. Wanted to change over the interior but I have a better chance selling it. Sorry just had to vent

I bought an '87 IROC-Z for next to nothing, kept the suspension goodies, a few trim pieces and parted the rest on EBay. Came out of the deal way ahead. Might just be the ticket for you to try.

I was thinking about buying a 90-92 Camaro RS, just for the body tho(gonna throw a LS1 in there) and build it up for road couse . I was thinking how hard it would be to put one of the HPE 408's in there. Also I was wondering if the Wolfe 8 pt. roll cages would fit in a third gen.... just wondering because before I start tearing all of the insides out I want to be sure that I'll be able to make it work.

Sold not too long ago...Makes me The guy I sold it to has pretty much trashed it. I agree with one of the earlier posts in this thread...I love the LS1 and my 4th gen, but my IROC definitely had more personality.

This is a friends car which began life as a stock 1LE, blew a wrist pin, then upgraded to a Lingenfelter 383(which set me over the top to own one!). 440 crank hp wasn't enough back in '92 so it went back to LPE for a 434 cube small block making over 630 HP crank. It is clean enough to eat off of and has less than 20K miles. I LOVE this car!!

I've always loved the 85-90 IROCs and the 91-92 GTAs.
The third gen Camaro is the best looking f-body ever IMO. Followed by the early 2nd gen Camaros and the late 4th gen Firebirds.

chevymec,

if that question was directed at my friends red lpe 'roc, it's at lpe now for a few things.

they're supposed to be taking it down the 1320 before too long. it should trap in the 13X mph zone.

i'll keep you posted.

Go to my site and look all you want....

After seeing some of these cars, mine may be a little dirty. Anyway it fits right in though.

That is the original finish that I have meticulously maintained through the years(first began caring for it in 1992).

Thanks for the nice words. To see the car in person is a real treat.

It's left a LOT of higher dollar cars VERY upset, and I LOVE IT!!

Here are a few of my 87 IROC. She needs alot of work, check page five of my cardomain and you'll see. I've had her since 97 and haven't given her what she needs....shame on me, money is the root of all evil, lol...but I got the hood fixed in April.
