Please forgive me if this is a repost, but I had a claims adjuster out at my house today and upon going through his database, he came across a safety recall on my 02. It reads as follows:
Component Description:
STRUCTURE: FRAME AND MEMBERS

Defect Description:
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION," AND NO. 214, "SIDE IMPACT PROTECTION." THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE WELDS NEAR THE LOWER DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HINGE THAT DO NOT MEET SPECIFICATIONS.

Yeah, it was posted about three months ago.

There were only about 900 cars with this problem, so I wouldn't worry about it too much - and most (if not all) of those were probably already fixed when their original owners were notified within a few months of purchase and offered free repair, since they started notifying owners in December 2001.
