Default 1979 Camaro

Hello ya'll. There is a 1979 red camaro for sale a few miles from my home. I'm writing to ask how many miles a gallon will these go for?

you are going to need to give quite a bit more extra info for that question. what size motor. four spd or auto. gears in the rear. with a 350 and auto tranny and highway friendly rear and well tuned i would say between 12 and 18 depending on how much smog equipment is on your motor.

Yeah, I apologize for the lack of info. I"m now reading the history of camaros. So I"m new on them. That's the first question I ask before I check into everything else for I'm looking for one that's good on gas. I'm going to check it out tomorrow and take it for a test drive. I'll keep this thread up to date. Thanks your time, rocketrider93.

My 350 / 4-speed / factory 3.73 gears got about 13-14 in the city, and up to about 17 on the highway, with a lean running carb. That was running 60-65 on the highway. Much higher than that and the motor (a .060 over rebuilt unbalanced POS) would start shaking too much.

The 4-speed is going to be replaced with a T56... some day... few years.... when I feel in the mood to tackle it.

Second gens are going up in value. Not a bad investment if you can get it cheap enough.

Bad news. I went by the car dealership and it was just sold today. Man, that sucks.
