Well, stock I did 327 rwhp 337 rwtq,
did a 13.2 @108 with the stock tires with a M6
If I had another day at the track and line lock to do a real
burnout I think I could have got 12.9. 1/2 hour before that
it did about 165 on the way to the track chasing my bro in
his vett. My bro's vet has a 200mph speedo, mine was pegged.
The day before that I drove it from NJ to FLA 22 hrs
straight getting 31mpg. I don't care If any one believes all
that. That tells me the ls1 f body are allot of car for the
money. (and I'm glad I have one) -Felt good at top speep.

i had my 02 WS6 M6, stock, bury the speedo. On a 3/4 mile stretch. With the T-Tops out and windows down. The car was just about ready to shake itself apart, after i hit an expansion joint, so i lifted.

BTW, i was halfway through 6th gear, WOT.

Your LS1 sits stock at 327 rwhp 337 rwtq? Is that with the transmission, driveshaft, and axle disconnected or something?

Yet you only do a 13.2 at 108? You can get a 13.2 with 300 rwhp flat. Hell an A4 1999 model gets a 13.5 stock and the M6 models in 1999 were dyno'ing 298-299 rwhp stock.

You can't be getting 327 rwhp stock that car would be a factory freak if you did.

Yep that's all I could get out of it. Was with a m6 at moroso
with stock tires, temp about 90 deg.
Dyno was with the stock air box off.
The 02's were pumped up a bit from the factory. I think you
will find many 02's with the 345 package doing 330/340.
I think with another day at the track I could have done
12.9. 60's were only 2.0. I could not get the tires hot
enough without line lock, and did not know how to power
brake it with the m6.

In fact, the first ls1 I ever saw on the dyno was a 345 hp
package white 02
SS. It was right after we took my 71 big block off the
rollers. It was very painful to here it was stock... it did
330rwhp. My 427 only did 350rwhp/390rwtq. It was then I
learned to respect the mighty ls1's.
I ordered one about a week or 2 later.

As for 13.2, the list of stock cars that can do low 13's
right out of the box with a first time at the track driver
is very short....

Okay you had the 345 hp package I forgot that they made those, you had exhaust covered right out of the box. I thought you were getting an overgrown ego over there.

You think that 427 doing 350/hp 390 ft/lbs is bad try a 455 with only 255 hp at the crank and a 301 with only 135 peak hp. That's 2 peak hp less than a Civic.

BS.

I dynoed 339/356 at the rear wheels with just a hooker CB and a lid. NEdyno day in October '03. I have the graph, and half of the Eastern section saw it. The '01/'02 cars make more power, you know that right? Better flowing stock headers, different cam (actually a bit smaller duration/lift wise, lower LSA) , LS6 intake...

I've run 12.8 @ 113.

Regardless, a stock 330rwhp-ish f-body with the governor turned off will run right in the area of 170-175.

You're ignoring all the previous proof I provided in this thread. IN VIDEO FORM.

I still don't understand all this arguing.

These cars top out in 5th gear stock, with stock gearing. You need to make big power, or have a a tall gear to be able to use 6th for top end runs.

I've done 163 in 5th gear off the limiter, back up, then off the limiter again.

Did you have that dyno tuned as well? Besides intake and exhaust are significant bolt-ons for a LS1. They are regularly dynoed at 298-310 stock rwhp depending on year.

That and a stock F-body going 170-175 would make it faster than the (video now down) C5 going 172 below.

Tony's (Nine Ball) 2002 35th SS did 321rwhp BONE stock to the paper filter.

http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewvehicle.php?id=287

Thats the car, and here he dyno'ed 330rwhp with JUST a lid:

Peace,
Craig.

NO TUNE. Lid/catback and after driving an hour to the dyno in Worcester, Mass.

PLENTY of '01/'02 cars are over 310rwhp. For the reasons I listed above...

Significant? Not really.

A stock f-body will go 170. It takes some room, and obviously the limiter has to be shut off. They go 163 all day long.

i agree, the SS is shaped like a bullet, i mean exactly like a bullet.
they have a great design and shape for top end speeds.

also why these 300-400hp cars get mid 20s MPG all day

My suggestion: Get a new goal, or get a new car.
Why not just lower your camaro and fit an air dam at the front of the car. I think alot of silver state classic racers do that to reduce their drag.

Not sure how i came upon this thread considering it is 4 years old, but i think it's funny how no one thought it was even remotely possible an fbody could hit 200mph, and now LMR went 239 in the standing mile. Things sure do change.
