New here, 70 Z/28
I'm new here, but i'll post some pictures later of a 70' ( and a 1/2 ) that was completely restored, have a few pictures of the process and a few of the finished product. If i can find it, ill throw up the parts list + dyno.. So, who else here has a 70 Z28?

That looks pretty damn cool man! I'm not a big fan of the airbrushing on the mirror, but everything else is nice! I really like the color.
The 2nd gens are my least favorite, but only because of the late 70's and 80-81 model. The first years (70-71) look great to me!
I have an '82 Z/28 Indy 500 pace car myself (besides the SS)
Good job man! Any track times or numbers?

I like the car but I have a few questions:
1. Is it a real Z28? No Z28's had a rat motor, which is what is depicted on the stand.
2. It's not an RS as the turn signal lights are rectangular vs round and below the bumperettes vs above. With those lights the car would have a full length bumper.
3. Not a question. It is an early production 70 1/2 though judging by the small spoiler and the headrest bucket seats. Both were changed in mid-stride during the 70 MY to the 3 piece spoiler and high back bucket seats as used in the Vega.
4. If the engine you have on the stand is the original to the car then you have an SS. Does it have a 12-bolt or a 10-bolt? What type of tranny does it have?
Mind you I'm not critiqueing you or the car, but as a restorer and owner of a 67 RS/SS I am curious. Also, I ask because although the car looks good it may not be what has been represented.

2.i dont recall him claiming it was a rs car...and again since you know your s*** why not mention that full bumper cars have different grills also...
3.WRONG! there isnt a 701/2 then a 70... the 70s were demmed that name cause they came out at the end of 69...dont get me wrong you know some ****, like the low back seats with headrests, except they were in all 70 cars then switched for the 71s and later. as the the spoiler that was always an option between the two from the factory, not year specific.
4.in 1970 even the rs 350 4bbl cars had 12 bolts like the ss and the z28.
i have a 1970 (1/2) rs. z28 clone. that is BORING (belleybuttons restos bore me, which sounds like your deal) and im going to make it a pro-touring/resto-rod car heres a pic.

You like Pro Touring cars then more power to ya! I'm not exactly a hose clamp and correct tires type as you've surmised. I'm more into restification but have done a few #'s matching cars for others, all of them 1st gens - 67's to be exact. Good luck with your car!
