brp vs edelbrock?
Installing a ls1 and 4l60e into a 1970 lemans sport. Whos product did you like better as far as fit? How about headers? I need to figure out witch way to go with this build and this is not a thread to rip on one or another, but I would like to here you comments. Thanks

I have talked with both companys and I like the edelbrock setup, but I dont want to notch the frame (its already powercoated). I guess I could move the acc to make it fit. The brp sits alittle different so I dont think the headers would fit right. What do you think?

Edelbrock!!! And this is coming from someone who tried both kits. But it was in a 2nd gen Camaro so I can't really comment on the Lemans kits. All I know is the Edelbrock parts are very nice quality, fit excellent and were not way overpriced.
If you don't want to notch the crossmember just relocate the A/C up high. With the money you save on choosing Edelbrock you can buy a nice relocation bracket... and even after that it would probably still be the least exspensive of the two.
Mounting the engine higher and further forward to keep the A/C in the stock location just doesn't seem like a good idea to me... looks akward in the engine bay. Plus, it usually requires you to use the LH8 oil pan which hangs too far below the crossmember.

I have the BRP mounts and Edelbrock headers in my 66 Skylark. The engine sits a little high in the front, but everything fits except for the A/C compressor. I should pont out that my LS1 has the Corvette accessories. The Edelbrocks are stepped headers and I like that feature. I did not use the BRP crossmember as I have a 200 4R trans. Hope this helps.

I had the BRP monts and crossmember. The engine dose set high hope you dont mind cuting out your tran tunnel. I sent it back and got a set of monts from summit for $60 thay work great you just have to relocate you alt to top. https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-chevelle.html

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...hevelle-2.html I got the monts from sumitt. the pan hangs down about 1.5 inchs below crossmember.I had to shem engine up about 3/8 to clear crossmember it was a little close. I like the fit alot better than BRP fit. I tried both ways.

i was going to get BRP because i can retain the factory F body accessories and im doing a T56 in an auto car so i gotta cut the floor anyway. and the rear crossmember comes with it so u dont have to do alot of work setting the pinion angle. just get adjustable rear arms to set the pinion angle. Im not lowering my car so i wont have an issue with the axle being higher than the trans.
from what ive read about the Adaptor plates. They require alot of fabricating and mount/spacer problems setting the engine in expecially on Pontiac frames.
