I did a ls1 in a 71 camaro. About the only difference would be the dbw with the ls2.

^^nice bro! This is what every classic should have. Seems like nobody is really doing these swaps.

Did you see the June issue of Super Chevy? They did a LS1 swap into a Nova

Hey MJLS1,
I'm doing the same project in a 73 RS.
Can you tell me what Pacesetter headers you used??? Any modifcations required to them??
Thanks much for your help.
Michael.

Michael.
I used the offroad non egr header. The drivers side collector will point toward the subframe. I heated the tubes and bent the collector so it was straight. I did the same for the passenger side. I had to dent one tube where the lower control arm bolts to the frame. If the motor was sitting back a little farther, I may not of had to dent the tube. I had them coated when done.

MJLS1,
do you have a build thread? definitely like to check it out, I have a 73 with a gen1/t56/4.10's and classic auto air. Collecting parts for a 5.3 swap. curious to know how mine will drive and yours seems darn pretty close.

any performance numbers (track/dyno)?

edit - just looked through some of your posts, looks like most of the questions I have.

nice car, how does she drive?

Sorry, I dont have a build thread. I got the pig slow dial up. Everything takes forever.
I have not taken it to the track or dyno yet. It drives real nice, get in, hit the key, and go. and got up to 25 mpg on the power tour last year.
If you got any more questions, feel free to ask.

there ya go, this is the best write-up i've found for a second gen camaro so far. will be reading this one a lot when i finally do my ls1 swap. this one started as an ls1 but became an ls2 somewhere along the way.
