LS7 Corvette accessory drive
I have a LS2 from a 06 CTS-v and was looking at the alternator location on a LS7 corvette engine
If I get this bracket will I have to change the balancer, waterpump, etc? I am putting it in a 70 Chevelle and it seems it would be easier to have the alternator up high like that.

There have been a few post with part numbes, they can mostly be found in the FAQ or searching.. or just run down to the local dealer's part desk.
Yes, it would be a nice setup for the Chevelle, my F-Body pulley is very close, just enough room for a belt to slip between.

Man you wouldn't believe how many posts there are. I looked for an hour. I am normally not too quick to ask because people get tired of repeating themselves. If you go to the dealer they want a VIN number to sell you a part hence my problem. The posts I read mainly dealt with converting the F body LS1 setups not LS2. The accessories look similar except the alternator is up high that is why I thought I wouldn't have to change the balancer or idlers.

The LS7 Balancer is diifferent than a LS2 Vette balancer..and you would also have to change the water pump..The C5 front drive accessories are also different than the C6..
C5=bowl shaped waterpump...C6=flat face like pictured...here are a couple of different places you can buy Vette front drive accessories:

On ebay the CTSV uses the same water pump part number? So I am a little confused I don't know if you can see in this pic but it was all I had in a pinch.
That showed up really small I'll have to go into the garage and get a pic tomorrow

All you need is the bracket, the alternator and PS pump/reservoir. The Vette stuff and CTS stuff is at the same depth, so everything will line up.
There is nothing special about the LS7 stuff other than the balancer; the rest is just regular C6 parts.
I've got an LS7 that's converted to the F body parts, but I tried the CTSv stuff first. Wouldn't clear the rack on the car unfortunately, but the water pump and balancer on the LS7 lined up perfectly with the v parts.
Even if your engine doesn't have the flat faced pump it doesn't matter, as the other pump will still work the belt farther back. C5's were set up like the C6, and they used the same pump as an F body.

Thanks for the good pic of the V engine. I couldn't find one. Now one more question and I'll let this go...what year Vette bracket/alternator/PS reservoir do I need ? I was think the PS pump would be the same? We have a late model dismantler I can try.

I have been buying all my Corvette accessory drive setup piece by piece. I have spent way less than what GM would want for the kit. Got a new A/C pump, New LS-2 clutch style alternator, a new P/S pump, and a new shorter nose water pump all on EBAY. All on the cheap. The only thing I actually need now is a new pair of tensioners. I did go to GM for the bolts and nuts though. I hate using parts that don't look like factory. Just search, buy, and install.

If the water pump is the same part number then the balancer should work in either application if I am thinking correctly. I have some time to gather parts so I will be buying it one piece at a time on ebay. I just wanted to know the year range on the bracket/reservoir.

I think there are many documented builds that used the C5/C6 acc in Chevelles with success. However it all depends where you locate the engine.
Here is mine on a 69 Chevelle.....C6 pulley won't work with steering box.

What kind of steering box is that? Mine is different. I bought the bracket, pump, pulley, and reservoir today from the dealer for around $175. Still need to get a alternator so I'll be watching carpart.com.
