plans for now motor wise, go through the 5.3, i have a ls6 cam and intake for it.. run that, build a set of headers, get a stall, and run it as is then start building a 6.0 or something down the road..

NICE!! I always luved those trucks. By the way, the fact that you are doing all that fab work in a two car garage is extremely cool. i like the tubing bender cart.

pace setter headers for 01ish camaro.. cant use them with new frame, will have to build a set of headers.. nbs shorts come close to working, i could modify one tube and they will, but im wanting long tubes.

will 1-3/4" headers with 2.5" exhaust and x pipe be enough for a 5.3? what about a 6.0 with aftermarket heads, cam etc?

A buddy of mine built a luv truck with a cammed 6.0 in it. We built the headers for it at our shop with 2 inch primaries longtube headers. Sounds mean as hell. Ran really good till he spun a bearing. Now he is putting my old 5.7 out of my 02 z28 in it. Your build looks badass

Sweet! I've got a rust-free '78 LUV that I was considering building for my son. It's a long bed though, and I would really like to have a shortbed.

sweet! i had a 76 for my first truck.. tpi 305,700r4. it was a fun *** truck. wish i didnt ever get rid of it.. but now i this one which will be cooler.

steering column, wheel and adapter kit ordered. got a 35" ididit column, non tilt, steel. ill have to shorten column but its the only one they had in stock. and i didnt need tilt in my old luv truck so why in this one. and i got the cheapest grant wheel i could.. 25$. will do till i get a billet one.

i called up a guy about building me a set a headers. i will be giving him a deposit on them, and probably dropping the truck off as within the next month. and he should be getting to it by febuary and will take a couple weeks. hes a one man operation so its not super fast. but i hear he is awesome.

Very nice work on the chassis. Showed the kid, and he says "you can do that to my truck whenever you want!"

Very cool build. Thumbs up for old school truck/ Out of curiousity, what's a set of custom built headers worth? If you don't want to post the price, could you pm me it? Maybe another guy or 2 on the forumn thinking about doing this swap might need a set made for them selves.
