Default Fox with ls1/t56 and cable clutch, has anyone done it?

Every swap I've seen with a fox and t56/ls1 has been with a hydraulic clutch, has anyone done a cable released clutch? Would there even be room for a mustang t5 style fork and throwout bearing in the LS1 t56's bellhousing, or any way to put a pivot ball on the front plate of the trans? Thanks for any input.

While I don't have a fox LS1/T56, I have worked on my fair share of LS1 T56 cars, and I would say not a chance in hell of that happening, just not enough room and way to complex. Look for a hydraulic set up and pedals from a Turbo Coupe, I hear that is the answer.

So here is what I have, getting a lt1 t56, will I be able to use the front plate set up for cable clutch and ls1 bell to use a cable clutch behind my ls engine?

The LT1 T56 input shaft is shorter than the LS T56 input. If you use a LS bellhousing, the input won't reach the pilot bearing. It is possible that the LT input may still engage the LS7 pilot location, but I've never mocked that up before.

Here is my take on this scenario. Use a LS1 trans, bolt it to a LS engine, use LS hydraulics, and install a hydraulic MC on the vehicle that you are working on. Anything else, and you are just asking for trouble.

Guess I shoulda mentioned.. I plan to use the ls bell and input, I was only curious to if I could use the lt1 plate as it has the shift fork ball. I've been looking at the hydro conversion but that's ~600 I didn't wanna spend.

I don't know if the LT front plate is compatible with the LS input shaft.

Surely a hydraulic conversion is not that expensive. The kit for my Cougar was $235, plus the slave and line of course. A while back I saw a kit that was really cool, but I can't seem to remember who makes it.

That's the one I need :/ guess it's looking like I'm gonna have to go that route. O well, I was only gonna try the cable clutch deal if it had been done successfully before.

You don't need all that. You just need to mount the MC and then run a line to a stock f-body slave, assuming you are doing a LS swap with a T56.

I wish I could remember the company that made the other MC mount. It didn't stick into the engine bay at all and used a nifty system to mount the MC vertically. Maybe it was Bowler?

I'll look into that tomorrow, yes a 5.3 with t56. Thanks!
